Academic Year Travel & Research Grants-2017
The Graduate Academic Year Travel & Research Grant supports graduate student research on topics in European Studies so that students can gain access to sources of information necessary for the development or completion of their thesis, dissertation, or publication. The grant funds research trips conducted during the academic year (excluding the summer) so that students can access sources of information unavailable to them at Notre Dame

Course Level:

Grants are available for graduate research program at the University of Notre Dame.

Eligibility:
Applicants must be currently enrolled as a graduate student at the University of Notre Dame and be in satisfactory academic standing with at least a 3.0 GPA. Applicants may apply at any stage of their program, from matriculation to degree completion, but students must not be enrolled beyond the degree completion limits set by the Graduate School: ten semesters for master’s degree students and sixteen semesters for doctoral students. Eligible projects will demonstrate relevance for contemporary European studies and have clear bearing on the applicant’s academic and professional goals.

Benefit:

$2500. Funds are typically paid as a one-time sum

Number of Awards:

Multiple. Students may only receive one (1) Graduate Academic Year Travel & Research Grant per academic year. The exact number of grants awarded will vary depending on the number of applications received, merit, and the amount of available funds

Application Procedure:
Please complete the online form and upload your materials as prompted. Directors of Graduate Studies, academic advisors, and faculty supplying approval or letters of recommendation will be notified by the system to complete their portion of the application.
A complete application consists of the following distinct parts:

• a complete online application form
• a current curriculum vitae
• a three- to four-page project description
• a detailed budget statement
• one letter of recommendation
