Applications are invited and being offered by the College of Social Sciences to study for a PhD in an area of research linked to the college’s school/subject areas: The scholarship will run for a maximum of 3 years full-time or 5 years part-time commencing on September/October 2017. This is a highly competitive prestigious competition attracting a large number of applications and only high quality candidates will be shortlisted.

Scholarships are provided to learn any of the courses offered by the College of Social Sciences to study for a PhD.

Course Level:
Scholarships are available for PhD degree level at University of Glasgow in UK.

Eligibility:
Candidates should have a Master’s degree in Politics, Sociology, Policy or a related Social Science cognate discipline. Knowledge and experience of quantitative methods of analysis and software tools for quantitative data analysis is highly desirable.

Home/EU and international applicants are eligible to apply as well as students already in their first year of a University of Glasgow PhD. Both full-time and part-time students are eligible.

Benefit:
The scholarship will run for a maximum of 3 years full-time or 5 years part-time commencing on October 2017 and will provide:

• an annual maintenance grant at the RCUK rate (2017/18 rate £14,510 full-time/£8577.60 part-time)
• fees at the standard Home/EU or International rate
• a research support grant of £750 (£450 part-time) per annum
